Mossy Creek was inspired by one of my favorite things—a quiet hike along a sparkling Oregon creek, full of little waterfalls, mossy rocks, and sunbeams pouring through the trees. The sound of the water was so soothing to my soul, I just had to paint it! You’ll spot a blacktail buck in the distance, pausing for a drink—just one of those peaceful surprises that make moments like this so special. I’ve always felt that water—whether it’s the ocean, a rushing creek, or a still pond—refreshes the spirit and sparks my imagination to create. This painting is for all of you who love art, wildlife, the great outdoors, or are simply looking for a little peace and beauty to bring into your day.

This painting is close to my heart. Mossy Creek was inspired by a quiet hike through the Oregon woods after a fresh rain—sparkly underwater rocks, little mossy waterfalls, and golden sunbeams peeking through the trees. It was one of those peaceful walks where the world just slows down. I painted in a blacktail buck in the distance, gently stepping in for a drink. You might not notice him at first, but he’s there—just like in real life, where the best moments are sometimes the quietest.
